The International Scientific Conference of Young Researchers organised in Polish-Azerbaijani cooperation “The existing conditions and prospects for agricultural and industrial development” was held on December 2th 2016 in Władysław Grabski Main Library’s Conference Hall at Warsaw University of Life Sciences – SGGW. The conference was organised by Department of Agricultural Economics and International Economic Relations and Department of Economics and Economic Policy at Faculty of Economic Sciences WULS – SGGW.               The aim of the conference was to promote the achievements of young scientists and to exchange the ideas and research experience among them. The Conference provided a forum for discussion on various issues. 13 presentations prepared and delivered by 16 young researchers from 9 countries covered a wide array of topics. The questions discussed included, among others, conditions and prospects for agricultural and industrial development, regional development and regional policy, urban farming and determinants of free trade agreements.

The Conference was opened by Vice-Rector for International Cooperation WULS-SGGW, prof. Michał Zasada. Faculty of Economic Sciences authorities were represented by Associate Dean for Science, prof. Jakub Kraciuk, Associate Dean for Extramural Studies and Development, prof. Ludwik Wicki and Associate Dean for Domestic and International Cooperation, Nina Drejerska, PhD. The conference organisers were represented by Head of Department of Agricultural Economics and International Economic Relations, prof. Maria Parlińska and Head of Department of Economics and Economic Policy, prof. Alina Daniłowska.

First Secretary of the Embassy of the Turkey Republic to Poland, Mr Ömer Yazgan, Third Secretary of the Embassy of the Azerbaijan Republic to Poland, Ms Fidan Mahmudowa and Vice-President of World Azerbaijanis Assembly, Mr Raqif Huseynov were among conference honourable guests.

The numerous participation (over 60 attendees) of young scientists and students representing a dozen of different countries from all over the world, including Azerbaijan, Turkey, Albania, Ghana, Philippines, Kazakhstan, India, Ukraine, Hungary, Russia, Italy, China, and Poland, constituted a special value of that scientific event.

The conference programme included an impressive piano recital performed by an excellent Turkish pianist, Ms Gizem Kardal. The recital took place between two plenary sessions.
